**Family Man, Friend, Coach and Mentor**

**Dad was a man who would look at and see strength, perseverance and authenticity. You could see and feed those qualities energetically whether you met the man only once or knew him a long time.**

**The Bottom line, hockey fed Dad’s Soul. Competition fueled him. Hockey has been in his blood since he was a young boy. Teaching, mentoring, and team-building were his passions, but family drove his ambitions and inspired him.What I realize now and what comforts me is that we were his inspiration. All that time apart was worth it because he was building his dreams. Fulfilling his true calling. He knew as a young boy he wanted to work in the NHL. He may have done many things before he reached that point. But he never lost a sign of his ultimate goal.**

**We are grateful to have the Memorial Cup in his honour. Dad would wish you all the best. **

**So let’s continue to play hockey and cheer for our favourite teams and think of him. Try to hold close to what is essential to you. Know that there is something to learn from every experience and every human we meet.**

**Papa était un homme qui regardait et voyait la force, la persévérance et l'authenticité. Vous pouviez voir et nourrir énergiquement ces qualités, que vous ayez rencontré l'homme une seule fois ou que vous le connaissiez depuis longtemps.**

**En bout de ligne, le hockey a nourri l'âme de papa. La compétition l'a nourri. Le hockey est dans son sang depuis qu'il est petit. L'enseignement, le mentorat et la constitution d'équipes étaient ses passions, mais la famille était le moteur de ses ambitions et l'a inspiré. Ce que je réalise maintenant et ce qui me réconforte, c'est que nous étions son inspiration. Tout ce temps à part en valait la peine car il construisait ses rêves. Accomplir sa véritable vocation. Il savait qu'en tant que jeune garçon, il voulait travailler dans la LNH. Il a peut-être fait beaucoup de choses avant d'en arriver là. Mais il n'a jamais perdu un signe de son but ultime.**

**Nous sommes reconnaissants d'avoir de la Coupe Memorial en son honneur. Papa vous souhaite tout le meilleur.**
